My Fair Wedding – Redux!
Carciofi Design had the pleasure of designing stationery for two episodes of My Fair Wedding with David Tutera this season. Both shows were a lot of fun to work on. Working with David and his team is always great and they really do give you creative control to do your best. We first worked with David last season on the Minitruck Bride episode. This season we designed the printed materials for Tuscany Bride and Motown Bride. All three episodes are in rotation now on WeTV, so be sure and tune in and catch us!

I Do Bridal Show Flashback
We meant to put up this post weeks ago, but got sidetracked by birthdays, Thanksgiving and the WIND-POCALYPSE that we experienced here last week that left us without power for 3 days, but better late than never we always say!
Carciofi Design had a great time at the I Do Bridal Show, held November 20th at the Langham Pasadena. The show was packed and a great success despite the rain. We had the pleasure of showcasing our invitations to over 1000 brides. Click here for a video recap of the show (some amazing vendors!). Real Wedding: Fall Glamour
This real wedding features our clients Tina and Paul and their fabulous Greek wedding that took place at the amazing St. Sophia Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles. This couple pulled out all the stops with a beautiful, traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony followed by a fun-filled, and incredibly designed, reception that had their guest’s jaws dropping (ours included)! Everything was done so elegantly and sparkled from top to bottom… from the enchanting Chanel inspired paper flower wall, to the incredible centerpieces (we’ve never seen so many beautiful flowers), the wonderful food and great music. Of course everything tied in with the glamorous invitations, programs, menus, escort cards and table cards we designed for them. It was a special treat to be invited as guests to this wedding and seeing their complete vision for their special day come together in such an amazing way!

The Gilded Invitation
Gold Marbled Paper Letterpress Invitation with Handmade Custom Box
It must come as no surprise that I have big time client envy. I say that in the best sense of the word though because I really do love my clients! It’s just hard not to get a little envious when we are working on these amazing invitations to wonderful destinations, thinking about the beautiful venue, the elegant reception…. ah c’est la vie!
Quynh and Ian are having a small, intimate Parisian wedding this fall. They came to us earlier this year wanting a classic and elegant box invitation for their closest family and friends. One that would really capture the spirit of their destination and be something that everyone could keep as a remembrance of the day. Quynh had fallen in love with the look of the Rococo invitation on the website, and wanted to take some of the same elements and tailor it into something uniquely their own. We found this beautiful aqua and gold hand marbled paper from Sustain and Heal and designed (and made entirely by hand) beautiful custom boxes to hold the invitations. The box is entirely lined in a crushed gold leaf paper, tied with double faced satin ribbon and topped with an ornate metal piece which frames the names of the couple letterpressed in gold ink on shimmering ivory paper.

On the inside, the gatefold invitation is wrapped in gold twine and sealed with a fleur de lis wax seal. Each panel holds a different piece of information. On the left is the venue, complete with a beautiful line drawing of the actual church. The center panel is the invitation itself with a floral swag adorning the top. On the right, is the the reception venue. All letterpressed in gold ink. It’s truly a stunning presentation.
Congrats to Quynh and Ian! We are sure your Parisian wedding will be trés magnifique. We’re just a little jealous that we don’t get to go!
